THE HANOVER BAND AND BEETHOVEN 2020
2020 is both the 250th anniversary of the birth of Beethoven and the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Hanover Band.
As a tribute to our inspirational founder Caroline Brown and to one of the greatest ever composers, Beethoven’s symphonic works will be the centrepiece of our work for the next three years.
Our Beethoven programme is in three distinct parts:
THE BEETHOVEN MODULE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICHESTER
The University of Chichester and the Band have developed a module in historic performance as part of the BA Hons Music degree. The three year programme will explore each Beethoven symphony and start in September 2019.
A BEETHOVEN SYMPHONY A DAY FOR NINE DAYS!
During the 2020 Arundel Festival and throughout the City of London we will provide the chance to hear all nine of Beethoven’s ground breaking symphonies by performing a symphony a day for nine days.
